Golden Meadow, LA
Visit Golden Meadow in Lafourche Parish
Some of the best fishing in Louisiana can be found in Golden Meadow with its access to Louisiana’s marsh and then into the Gulf of Mexico.
Golden Meadow is saturated with rich history and many ways to get hooked on its fishing culture. And while we often think of fishing as a man’s sport, this fishing town would not have been incorporated in July of 1950 without the help of the Golden Meadow Women’s Club, which persisted with four tries before Gov. Earl Long signed the act of incorporation.
With Golden Meadow's Gulf-side location, commercial fishing and the oil industry also play a large part in the economy. For sport fishing, charter with one of 30 area captains or set in at the local boat launch to angle in deep sea waters.
Many marinas and accommodations provide ample opportunities to stay and fish or dine on the freshest of seafood
